Nansen Neuroscience Lectures 2020
The Nansen Neuroscience Lectures (NNL) honors Nansen’s ground-breaking contribution to neuroscience and since the 10th of October 2010 the lectures are part of the Academy’s annual Nansen-celebration.
For the 10th celebration held by the Academy, on October the 12th 2020, Ragnhildur Þóra Káradóttir, University of Cambride and Háskóli Íslands (University of Iceland), and Lene Juel Rasmussen, University of Copenhagen, hold their respective lectures on "Myelin plasticity – a mechanism of learning and brain repair" and "Healthy Brain Aging: understand and intervene".
This year the lectures focus on how and why keeping the brain in shape is a prerequisite for a good life, particularly when we get older and age-associated diseases can creep up on us. Káradóttir and Rasmussen will update us on the current advances.
